Season 2, Episode 3: The Sewol Tragedy

This episode was difficult to do. Korea was reeling after a tragedy in which hundreds of high school kids lost their lives on a school trip because their ferry sank. It was right after it happened and we felt like we had to react.

News of the Weird w/Eugene

In the third story in particular, CNN’s Kyung Lah told the world that cultural values demanding obedience from kids was the reason many of them did not flee to safety, and that didn’t sit well with us.

After almost a year long hiatus we picked up in Season 2. Sadly Christine and Michael decided not to join, necessitating a total revamp. This episode served as a pilot of our new format, introducing Aaron Martinson to cohost with Olivia.
